Roger Murphy

Board President 

Roger Murphy has been an educator for 30 years, teaching a variety of topics at the high school level from English and History to Economics and Financial Literacy. In 2018 Roger was awarded a fellowship through the Rowland Foundation to study the implementation of work-based experiences for Vermont high school students. He is a former board member of the Vermont Mountain Bike Association and former president of the Stowe Trails Partnership, and currently serves on the boards of two Vermont organizations, the Stowe Land Trust and Lamoille County Planning Commission in addition to serving on the Suwandi Foundation board of directors. He is passionate about providing high-quality educational experiences and the power of those same opportunities to transform both individuals and their communities.

Lillian Gatto

Board Treasurer 

Lillian Gatto is a versatile professional with a solid background in accounting receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Loyola Marymount University and a Certification in Advanced Accounting from Santa Clara University. Her career spans roles showcasing her expertise in financial management, accounting policies, and internal controls. Notably, Lillian served as PTA President at Russell Ranch Elementary School, leading a team, fostering parental involvement, and managing the PTA budget to support educational initiatives. With a commitment to excellence and a history of successful management in both accounting and community service, she is poised to contribute significantly to any professional environment.

Lisa Dagget

Board Secretary 

Lisa Daggett-Cummings has devoted her career to empowering individuals, instilling self-sufficiency, and fostering their well-being. She has extensive experience in fund development and marketing, working for emerging nonprofit organizations that cater to children’s health, education, and social services.

Lisa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from California State University Long Beach, which served as a foundation for her MBA from Loyola Marymount University. As an adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University, she specializes in teaching Business Ethics and Sustainability, instilling a deep understanding of global change, ethics, and leadership in her students. Lisa finds immense joy in engaging in meaningful conversations about the transformative power of “Business for Good” and the positive change it can make for her students and the community at large.

Bernadette Musetti

Board Member | TEFL / Education Advisor

Jeff Lively 

Board Member | Legal            Advisor
Jeff Lively, is currently the General Counsel of the Himalayan Cataract Project, advises HCP’s Board, management, and staff on a broad range of legal issues in connection with its programs and operations, including contractual matters, domestic and international grants, employment issues, corporate structure and governance, construction administration, policy and regulatory compliance.  Prior to joining HCP, Jeff was “Of Counsel” at Sheehey Furlong & Behm, PC where he provided general business and transactional representation to individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Jeff also worked as General Counsel for the Department of Buildings & General Services with the State of Vermont for 11 years, providing legal guidance and counsel to the Commissioner and the department on a wide array of issues ranging from contract and grant administration to construction administration, risk management, legislation, policy and record retention. Jeff earned his J.D. from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law and received his B.A from the University of Vermont majoring in political science and minoring in economics, and geography.  
 
Jeff is a dedicated hockey player and coach who lives in Waterbury Center with his wife Becky, two children Sam and Sage, and the families dogs Poppy and Luna.
